![]() ![]() In any case, I'm all in on Luna and don't see myself looking back.English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese I can see how people who use a lot of virtual instruments and midi for their creativity might struggle more in this environment but I don't see why you can't have/use both. Trying to run a large session with multiple takes without the ability for versioning and session clean-up is going to be a real issue for people - I would expect this to be at the very top of the list. ![]() One thing that will need to be addressed sooner rather than later is the file and session management. People don't like that you can't ARM 3rd party plug-ins but if I were doing this in Logic, I'm ALWAYS forced to go into low latency mode to get any sort of workable situation and that is much worse to me. The fact that I can plug a guitar into a vintage tube amp, run it through an Ox, into an AD, into my DAW and add as much processing on it as I could possibly ever want and have that direct finger-to-ear feedback in a way that's as close to playing live as possible is really an absolute thrill. vst and bounce the individual tracks well, it's not ideal, but it's not the end of the world for me either. If I have to go into Logic to load up a multi-out. I don't have enough hours in the day to keep up. My workflow is vastly improved (from Logic) and my productivity is sky-rocketing. I make and mix mostly "organic" music - that is, music with actual humans playing instruments. This also allows them to stabilize each portion of the product before moving to the next, giving them a limited universe to work in while they iron out the bugs (of which there are many) in each phase of development. Whether you think they've been successful in this is up to you but taking the approach that they'll deliver the thing that they're best at (making good sounds) and add the rest over time is a much better strategy than waiting another two years for a fully featured DAW. ![]() That's all I need right now, out of Luna.Ĭlick to expand.I think everyone can agree that there are a lot of things that need to be added/addressed but this is why UAD itself is emphasizing the fact that - it doesn't have to be your only DAW and have tried, at least, to make moving between it and others manageable - sample rate conversions / a quick and easy mixdown workflow / drag and drop import, etc. ![]() It allows me to work quickly and make me sound pretty damn good. I am primarily a guitarist, and so Luna captures what I want. I'm not a "pro," but I do provide tracks for some friends who want them. I like Luna well enough that I picked up an Arrow interface so I can move around. My tracking room is really good for what I need. Import that into Luna, set up the room mics, and go to town. I program the drums in Logic, and mix down to a stereo stem. I am doing some "natural room" stuff right now, with very little midi. Logic is great when using the Console, but I like the Luna natural flow. If I am going to do some midi or drum programming, I will use my go-to app, which is Logic. So far, it works very well on that front. Using the Unison approach with a nice preamp up front makes for some great takes. I like Luna for its awesome recording capabilities right now. Luna is a pretty good stab at that market, but with a different approach. Studio One, Cubase, etc., are extremely mature products, and products that pretty much promise to do it all. Sure, it doesn't do everything, but what it does, it does extremely well. For a version 1 application, Luna is very, very good. ![]()
